The Botany conference is a joint
meeting of the Botanical Society of America with the International Association for Plant Taxonomy, American Fern Society, American Society of Plant Taxonomists, American
Bryological and Lichenological Society, and the Society of Herbarium Curators. Events at this
conference include a symposium on “Practical Considerations for
the Botanical Authentication and Quality Control of Medicinal and Aromatic
Plants” by James E. Simon and Nick Crider and a symposium entitled “Botanical
DNA Banking and the Systematics Community: Working Together to Meet
Future Research Challenges” by Wendy Applequist.

55th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Pharmacognosy (ASP)
Oxford, MS: August 2nd - 6th,
2014
This year's meeting will explore the
topic of natural products and their impact on humankind. To this end, the confluence of current research topics related to health and agriculture will reviewed, discussed, and explored. Topic areas will include past achievements,
current status, and future prospects in the area of natural products discovery
for the betterment of health, agriculture, and the environment. Since this is
the largest meeting on natural products research in North America, this is a
good meeting to stay current on new analytical trends and applications of
analytical instruments for the analysis of botanicals.
