AHPA Partners with CPGjobs

The American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) has created a new job board powered by Consumer Packaged Goods jobs (CPGjobs). This enhanced feature is intended to help natural products companies find and hire quality applicants. CPGjoblist is a job board that operates solely within in the consumer packaged goods industry. This is an all-encompassing natural products term that can include anything from ingredients and food science to beverage companies and dietary supplements, etc.

“CPGjobs wanted to reach deeper into more specialized areas of the consumer packaged goods industry,” said CPGjobs President Michael Carrillo (oral communication, June 3, 2008). “What we have now is a wonderful marriage with benefits for both companies.”

Though CPGjobs is powering the new AHPA job board for free, there is a mutual benefit for both companies through the exposure to more high quality candidates. AHPA is also provided with a higher level job board than its previous one.

“Partnering with CPGjobs allows us to enhance our distinctive offering among the job boards in the industry while providing users with a more robust and far-reaching platform,” said AHPA President Michael McGuffin, in an AHPA press release.1

All job candidate information is confidential with the level of disclosure solely decided by each candidate. Job posters also have control over the job posting itself which allows the posted job to be modified after its initial submission to reflect changes. According to Katia Fowler, AHPA’s director of communications, positions posted by AHPA members—and those who sign up through AHPA—are also highlighted and placed at the top of the list giving enhanced visibility (e-mail, June 3, 2008).

Job hunters are also able to narrow their search through the use of category selections or by selecting any of the columns at the top of the board, making results display in alphabetical, ascending, or descending order depending on selection. For instance, clicking the title field, which is one of the board’s headings, arranges the board to display in ascending alphabetical order by job title so that if a candidate were only interested in certain types of jobs they could find those more quickly. AHPA is confident that the enhanced platform and the features of this job board will attract companies in the natural products industry and make it an increasingly useful and specific tool for natural products companies, said Fowler.

The job board can be accessed here. Position listing is free for AHPA members. Non-member companies must pay $200 for 60 days. More information is available at the AHPA web site: http://www.ahpa.org/.
