Name of Drug
Cynarae folium, artichoke leaf.
Composition of Drug
Artichoke leaf consists of the fresh or dried leaf of Cynara scolymus L. [Fam. Asteraceae], and its preparations in effective dosage.
The drug contains caffeoylquinic acid derivatives such as cynarin and bitter principles.
Uses

Dyspeptic problems.
Contraindications
|
|
Known allergies to artichokes and other composites.
Obstruction of bile ducts.
In case of gallstones, use only after consultations with a physician.

Unless otherwise prescribed: Average daily dosage:
- Drug, 6 g;
- equivalent preparations.
Mode of Administration
