Marrubii herba, horehound herb.
Composition of Drug
Horehound herb consists of the fresh or dried, above-ground parts of Marrubium vulgare L. [Fam. Lamiaceae], as well as their preparations in effective dosage.
The herb contains bitter principles and tannins.

Loss of appetite and dyspepsia, such as bloating and flatulence.

Dosage
Unless otherwise prescribed:
Daily dosage:
- 4.5 g of drug;
- 2 - 6 tbs. of pressed juice;
- equivalent preparations.

Comminuted herb, freshly expressed plant juice and other galenical preparations for internal use.
Action
Marrubinic acid works as a choleretic.
