Name of Drug
Cucurbitae peponis semen, pumpkin seed.
Composition of Drug
Pumpkin seed consists of the ripe, dried seed of Cucurbita pepo L. and cultivated varieties of C. pepo L. [Fam. Cucurbitaceae], as well as its preparations in effective dosage.
The seed contain cucurbitin, phytosterol in free and bound forms, - and g-tocopherol, and minerals, including selenium.

Irritated bladder condition, micturition problems of benign prostatic hyperplasia stages 1 and 2.

Dosage
Unless otherwise prescribed:
Average daily dosage:
- 10 g of seed;
- equivalent preparations.
Mode of Administration
Whole and coarsely ground seed and other galenical preparations for internal uses.
Action
Due to the lack of suitable models, there are no pharmacological studies that substantiate the empirically found clinical activity.
Note:This medication relieves only the symptoms associated with an enlarged prostate without reducing the enlargement. Please consult a physician at regular intervals.
