Name of Drug

Juglandis folium, walnut leaf.  

Composition of Drug

Walnut leaf consists of the dried leaf of Juglans regia L.  [Fam.  Juglandaceae], as well as its preparations in effective dosage.  

The drug contains tannins.  

Uses

External:

  • Mild, superficial inflammations of the skin; excessive perspiration, e.g., of the hands and feet.

Dosage

Unless otherwise prescribed:

For compresses and partial baths:

  • 2 - 3 g herb per 100 ml water;
  • equivalent preparations.  

Mode of Administration

Comminuted drug for decoctions and other galenical preparations for external use.
